This gadget just checks getdota.com to know the version and then shows it on your desktop. It gives a notification if you don't have the latest version installed. You can click the text to go straight to getdota.com to download the latest map. You can click anywhere else to launch Warcraft III TFT.

Double click the *.gadget file to install.
When you install the gadget it will give some warning that it's not signed, but just click install and it will work.
Obviously only windows 7 and windows vista users can use this.
(Currently only tested on windows 7 as I don't have access to a vista pc)
